Qualcomm announces next generation Snapdragon processors

Qualcomm announced two new processors to their Snapdragon line, the Snapdragon 600 and the Snapdragon 800. The 600 is aimed at high-end mobile devices while the 800 targets premium mobile and computing devices. The 600 is expected to be in commercial devices by the second quarter of 2013, while the 800 will be available in commercial devices by mid-year 2013.

ZTE announces flagship Grand Series S smartphone

ZTE is showing off their new flagship Grand Series S smartphone, which the company claims to be the world’s thinnest at 6.9 mm. The phone packs a 5-inch FHD (1080p) display, a 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 CPU and 2GB of RAM. The handset also includes 4G LTE connectivity with download speeds up to 100 Mbps and upload speeds of 50 Mbps. In addition, the phone includes a 13MP AF camera (with flash) and a 2MP front-facing camera, both capable of 1080p video capture.
