We got our first look at NVIDIA’s SHIELD console and all its specs back at CES. In a blog post today, NVIDIA has finally announced a ship date, or rather, a ship month.
Nvidia’s GRID platform wasn’t announced at CES; it was announced in mid-2012. However, CES is the first time the public has been exposed to how it performs in real life. The company showed off many new products, most notably its Project Shield hardware at its booth at CES. We got to go hands on and play GRID compatible games on an Acer Ultrabook, LG Smart TV, ASUS Nexus 7 and HTC One X.
Nvidia let consumers see the recently announced gaming hardware “Project Shield” for the first time at CES this week. The portable console is an Android device running Jellybean, the latest Android operating system. It’s powered by Nvidia’s own Tegra 4 chipset- a custom 72-core Nvidia GeForce GPU and quad-core A15 CPU.
